Karjalan Heimo actively follows Karelian and Finno-Ugric events both in Finland and elsewhere in the world. The magazine aims to actively influence the preservation and development of the Karelian language and culture, providing information about the history and traditions of Karelia. It participates in current events and discussions and encourages also readers to write and take a stand.
In addition to content produced by its own editorial staff and changing experts, the journal publishes readers’ own recollections and other writings.
Personal interviews, literary articles and other art presentations are part of the magazine’s central content. In addition to Finnish, the different dialects of the Karelian language naturally gain visibility.
